Team GenRight finishes the 2011 King of the Hammers in Second Place!

Tony Pellegrino in the 4485 GenRight Off-Road Buggy finishes the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers in the second position! Starting from the 41st position at the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers Tony Pellegrino and co-driver Bryan Lyttle had their work cut out for them to get to the front of the pack.  The strategy was simple for race day, keep the car together and run our own race.  After the green flag dropped, the guys were able to make quick work of moving to the front of the pack!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmNJzxaUDoQ

When they reached Outer limits on the first lap they got caught in traffic when a rig rolled over right in front of them.  This incident cost the team approximately 30 minutes as the rolled rig blocked the line.  By the end of the first 60 mile lap the team had already moved into the 7th place and would continue to battle their way to the front.

Keeping the car together is exactly what they did!  The team only had to stop for scheduled fuel stops and were able to run in the front of the pack for a majority of the day.  When the checkered flag dropped at the end of the second lap the team had crossed the finish line in second place over 7 minutes ahead of third place.

"The car ran flawless all day long, our 42" Goodyear tires and Walker Evans Wheels made the perfect combination to keep the traction on the rocks and through the desert and resulted in no flats" stated Tony.  The GenRight Legend suspension system paired with the King coil over shocks made even the deepest of whoops or largest of boulders easy work for the GenRight team as well.

The GenRight buggy features a built LS3 motor boasting 595 horsepower and 585 foot pounds of torque that is paired with a Hughes Performance turbo 350 transmission that gets the power to the ground through an Atlas Transfer case and a set of Currie axles with Motive gears.   This was the perfect combination for power as we were able to power through the rocks and stay ahead of the competition.

This second place finish would not have been possible without the support and dedication of our entire team.  The GenRight team members are what gave us the advantage to stay ahead of the competition on race day.

Sponsors of the 4485 GenRight buggy include; GenRight Off-Road, Mopar, Goodyear, King Shocks, Walker Evans Racing, Currie, Hughes Transmission, Advanced Adaptors, Wilwood, Howe Power Steering, Motive Gear, Beard Seats, Simpson Safety, Rugged Radios, and Off Road Press, Master Pull, Griffin, Magnaflow

GenRight Off-Road Finishes KOH in 14th Place

Feb 12, 2010 Simi Valley, CA – Tony Pellegrino, owner of GenRight Off-Road, and the Official Suspension Sponsor of the 2010 Griffin King of the Hammers, finished the KOH race in 14th place.  100 vehicles started this grueling race and only 43 finished at all.  Top names from many forms of racing competed, and drivers from all over the world came to test their skills.  King of the Hammers, held in Johnson Valley, CA on February 12th is arguably the most challenging one day race in the world.

GenRight Off-Road signed on as an official sponsor of the event in August 2009.  This sponsorship gave the company a spot in the race and originally Tony and the team intended to use the spot as a media opportunity.  However, as things progressed, Pellegrino determined that the best way to showcase his company, his products and his talent was to build a competitive buggy to race in KOH.  The buggy GenRight built features GenRight’s double triangulated KOH Limited Edition Front and Rear Suspension, King Quad Bypass Shocks, 42” Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Tires, Currie Rock Jock 60 Axles, Atlas Transfer Case, Mopar Engine, Walker Evans Racing Wheels, Beard Seats, and HIDx Lights.  The relationship Pellegrino has with these companies allowed him to build a strong and capable vehicle with some of the best equipment in the business.  “We test what we sell on our Jeeps every day.  I won’t sell anything that doesn’t stand up to trails like the Hammers.  KOH was a great way to prove the quality of our products and those of our partners.”

The 805 GenRight Buggy started in 92nd place and passed 74 cars before its fuel stop at RM 36.  They were tracking in 5th for much of the race.  However a flat tire, a flop on Sunbonnet, and traffic on Sledge Hammer ultimately led to a finish in the 14th position.

“My goal was to finish in the daylight, which we did.  This race is brutal!  We couldn’t have done it without our team.  Anybody who finished in the top 20 automatically gets a spot in next year’s main race.  That’s pretty good for a bunch of Jeep guys”, Pellegrino said after the race.

Additional sponsors GenRight would like to acknowledge are Viking Offroad and Race Prep Hobbies.

GenRight Off-Road is an aftermarket automotive parts manufacturer located in Simi Valley, CA.  Specializing in Jeeps, they produce suspension kits, gas tanks, body armor and sport cages.  All of GenRight’s products are “Made in the USA”.  Tony Pellegrino, owner of GenRight Off-Road can be found showcasing his products on one of the GenRight Jeeps at events nationwide.  GenRight Off-Road is located at 1816 Angus Ave., Unit A, Simi Valley CA  93063.  For more information about GenRight or to purchase their products, please visit their website at www.genright.com or call (888) 891-2104.

He will be on the starting grid in the same candy red GenRight  Jeep that can be found on the trails, supporting off-road events, 42 out of 52 weekends of the year.  “I am very excited to be running in this years King of the Hammers race.  I consider this to be my home court where my friends and I normally go to test our equipment and skills on the weekend,” said Pellegrino.

GenRight designs, manufactures, assembles and distributes a long list of products for all styles of Jeeps right in their Simi Valley, CA location.  “Made in the USA” is very important to Pellegrino. Some other products GenRight manufactures include weld in roll cages, body armor, Crawler gas tanks and wheelbase stretch kits. “As a business owner I am on the trail with the people who need the parts, I know what works and what doesn’t work...then the next step is to always test our products on the trail before we ever produce them,” said Pellegrino. Dave Cole from Hammerking Productions adds, “We are excited to have GenRight on the list of Official Products. It’s important for Jeff and I to partner with companies who build quality products and support the King of the Hammers.”
